North Miami Moves Forward to Take Ownership of Biscayne Landing Property
North Miami, FL – March 31, 2011 – The city of North Miami will soon take ownership of the coveted undeveloped land tract which is now known as Biscayne Landing, (formerly Munisport.) Since placing the lender, Credit Suisse, in default last December, the City has actively pursued legal remedy to take ownership of the land once again.
By court order today, the Receiver of the property, Charles DeSanti of Kitson & Partners, has been authorized to turn over possession and control of the Biscayne Landing property to the City of North Miami on or before April 13, 2011. The Court's order also confirmed the termination of the Biscayne Landing Ground Lease as of today, March 31, 2011.
Biscayne Landing was originally conceptualized by Swerdlow/Boca Developers in 2002, after entering into a long-term lease with the City of North Miami to develop approximately 190 acres of land east of Biscayne Boulevard/US1.
